Shane Pill (PhD) lectures and researches in physical education and sport pedagogy, curriculum studies, and school leadership at Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia. His leadership, understanding and innovation in teaching and learning has been recognised with an Australian Government Award for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning (2016), Vice Chancellors Awards for Excellence in Teaching (2015 and 2019), and Faculty Awards for Excellence in Teaching (2013 and 2018). Shane’s long standing and broad contribution to teacher continuing professional development in physical education has been recognised with awarding of the honour of Fellow (2007) and Life Membership (2013) of the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER). Shane is the author of over 100 scholarly and academic publications on physical education and sport coaching pedagogy. He has worked with Tennis Australia, Cricket Australia, and the Australian Football League on education programs for sport teaching and coaching. He has been keynote and featured presenter at conferences in Australia and internationally. Prior to a career in academia, Shane was a physical education and science teacher in middle and secondary schools for eighteen years.
