Nomsa Daniels



Nomsa Daniels is the Executive Director of Scientific Resource Management Holdings (Pty) Ltd, an investment holding company which has invested in start-ups, early stage businesses and established companies in South Africa for almost two decades.  Its portfolio has included investments in telecommunications, mining, aerospace, financial services and e-commerce.

Nomsa also has extensive experience in the development sector, having served as CEO of the Graça Machel Trust, where she led a team of programme specialists who drove the Trust’s work in Women’s Economic Advancement, Nutrition, Children’s Rights and Leadership and Governance across Africa. Over three years, she harnessed her experience in advocacy, policy development, network building and stakeholder engagement to amplify the work of the Trust at national, regional and global levels.

Prior to her appointment as CEO, Nomsa held the position of Executive Director of New Faces New Voices (NFNV), also known as the Graça Machel Trust’s Women in Finance Network,  where she was at the forefront of initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s leadership in the financial sector. Through various NFNV programmes, she was instrumental in developing research projects to advance women’s financial inclusion in Cameroon, the DRC, Egypt, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.  She also managed the NFNV Chapter Network, comprising 17 Chapters across the continent, involved in various activities to significantly improve and promote women’s financial literacy, access to finance, business opportunities and leadership in tackling Africa’s development challenges.

In a non-executive capacity, Nomsa has served as a Trustee of the Graça Machel Trust Board of Trustees, a Board Member of the African Leadership Academy, a Board Member of the CORBUWAS International Youth Organization to Transform Africa and a Board Member of Roedean School.  

Nomsa has a Master’s Degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from the City University of New York, Hunter College; and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toronto.
