Nicola Aylward is a physiotherapist, wife and mother of 3 young children. She grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, and attended Roedean School (SA). She qualified as a physiotherapist at the University of Witwatersrand (WITS), South Africa before moving to the UK and setting up a sports injury and spinal physiotherapy practice, PhysioSW19 in Wimbledon, London. Here Nicola developed an interest in holistic health, women’s health and acupuncture, which she has continued to practice in ever since. She returned to South Africa in 2008 and continued her practice. She presents workshops and presentations on stress management in school and corporate settings, as well as workshops on women’s health and wellness. She teaches mindfulness and breathwork in schools and is currently part of a team piloting a mindfulness programme and curriculum at Roedean School, one of the first ‘mindfulness in schools’ programmes in South Africa.
