Isaac Quist currently works at Wesley College Melbourne as Executive Director for Curriculum and International Strategy and, also, Deputy Director of the Wesley College Institute. In this role, Isaac leads the College’s efforts to shape and progress its strategic directions in specific regard to all matters curriculum and international engagement. He works with others to develop new frameworks for teaching and learning, and to establish initiatives that enhance the College’s provision of global competency education, including focus on key elements such as language learning, industry learning, entrepreneurship development and problem solving approaches to learning.
Prior to Wesley, Isaac taught at the secondary and tertiary levels in both the Public and Independent sectors of the Ghanaian educational system where he also provided consultancy, teacher training and textbook review expertise to support implementation of that country’s educational reforms. During the same period he also created and facilitated capacity building programs for the staff of a number of international corporate organisations and supported the work of the West African Examinations’ Council (WAEC) to train newly appointed examiners for the GCE Advanced Level examinations run by that Council. In 1997, Isaac moved to the UK to work for the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Cardiff, Wales and from where he relocated to Wesley College in January 2006.
