Dr David Robinson is the Head of Department of Education and Curriculum Studies in the Faculty of Education at the University of Johannesburg. David has more than 30 years of experience in education. He was involved in secondary education for approximately half of this time; he was a teacher, HOD, Deputy Head, and Head in his school career. He joined University of Johannesburg more than a decade ago, and works in language education, particularly working with English Methodology students, and all first year students in the Education Faculty in the field of academic literacy. He has worked with undergraduate students, Honours students, and has supervised Masters and Doctoral students. He has spoken at many conferences over the years, both locally and internationally. In addition he has published articles in academic journals. In 2017 he co-edited a book entitled Realigning Teacher Training in the 21st Century. He has developed an interest in ecocriticism and has presented papers and published articles in this field.
